Tara Reid isn’t eating sour grapes about her romance with former boyfriend Tom Brady — but she does have a tart take on her ex.
The “American Pie” star opened up about her relationship with the NFL veteran in an interview with Bustle magazine published Thursday. Reid briefly dated Brady before her relationship with MTV host Carson Daly, whom she became engaged to in October 2000.
“We’d just see each other on and off,” Reid told the magazine. “It was nothing serious, but it was fun. We’d go to beer places and have fun and dance. He was cool.”
Following their split, Brady was drafted by the NFL's New England Patriots in 2000. The decorated quarterback has won three NFL MVP awards, four Super Bowl MVP awards and a record seven Super Bowl championships.
But for Reid, Brady’s personal transformation is far from a touchdown.
“He’s all skinny now. He’s so serious,” Reid said. “He used to laugh. When I watch his interviews, he’s so cocky now.”
Brady went on to marry Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen in February 2009 after two years of dating. Following rumors about their relationship, the pair announced the end of their 13-year marriage in statements posted to social media in October 2022.
Although Bündchen declined to comment on the speculation, she told Elle Magazine in a September 2022 cover story that she wanted Brady to "be more present."
"I’ve done my part, which is (to) be there for (Brady),” Bündchen said at the time. “I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams. Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career — it makes me happy."
Additionally, Bündchen said she had "concerns" about Brady continuing his football career: "This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present. I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again."
